Study on the preparation of ultrafine cuprous oxide
The cuprous oxide powder prepared by the method of glucose reduction, the influences of the mol proportion of glucose and bluestone, the reaction time, the reaction temperature, the stirring intensity, and pH on the granularity of Cu2O were studied, then the best reaction condition of preparing Cu2O was obtained. Cuprous oxide powder was characterized by XRD and SEM, the results indicate that the sample is cuprous oxide, the particle takes on an inerratic figure and the granularity distributes uniformity. The granularity was 120nm.
 
Preparation of Hollow Cuprous Oxide Nano-particles and Their Optical Properties
In the condition of microwave irradiating, hollow structures composed of Cu2O nanocrystals are successfully fabricated by reducing Cu2 with the reducing agent of dextrose. Effects of hexamethylenetetramine surfactant on the morphology of the products are studied by using X-ray diffraction pattern (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM). It is found that the shape of the Cu2O nanocrystals changes from sphere to flake with the decrease of the surfactant, and their size increases as well. It is also found that cuprous oxide particles are cubic crystals, and their UV-vis absorption peak appears at about 430 nm, with the corresponding bandgap of 2.58eV. The size effect results in an obvious blue shift.
 
Preparation and XRD Characterization of Cu-2O/REC Nanocomposite
Rectorie (REC) is a representative layered clay mineral that has important effects on regulating and controlling the synthesis of semiconductor photocatalytic nanomaterials. In this paper, the Cu2O/REC can be sonochemically prepared and synthesized with CuCl, NaOH, and various REC via the low-temperature solid-state method. The experimental conditions, effect factors, and the mechanism of the preparation of Cu2O and Cu2O/REC nanocomposite were studied by X-ray diffractions.
 
Studies of the Solution pH on Structure and Photoelectric Properties of Cu2O Films Prepared by Electrodeposition
Cu2O films were prepared on FTO (SnO2: F) glasses by electrodeposition, the influence of the solution pH on the structure and photoelectric properties of Cu2O films were investigated carefully. The results indicated that the preferential growth surface of Cu2O films changed with different pH, and the crystallinity and the incident photon-to-electron conversion efficiency (IPCE) increased gradually as the pH value increased. When the pH of the deposition solution was 12, the film had the best photoelectric properties, the IPCE reached 60% at 400 nm, indicating that the Cu2O films obtained were the promising candidates for water splitting.
